Leeds Beckett University was initially founded as the Leeds Mechanics Institute in the year 1824 and later became Leeds Institute of Science, Art and Literature in the year 1927 before renaming itself Leeds College of Technology. Some courses have non-standard start dates and when this is the case, the student will be contacted by their school. The full induction details will be available on this service when they have accepted an unconditional offer.

If a student is not paying the fees on their own then they can upload a sponsorship letter in the fees section of Online Welcome if they have been provided with one. The student also has the option of entering the details manually.

The student can apply for accommodation after accepting a conditional or unconditional offer on a full-time course. It may take 24-48 hours for the system to update with the status, after which students are enabled to make their accommodation booking.
