Visa Application Process

A step-by-step process of applying visa for UK may look like this

  • You can only apply for a Student Visa after you get your CAS at hand, and if you are able to showcase that you have enough funds to support your stay in the UK. 
  • Funds in the bank account must be held for a minimum of 28 days and the account must be in your name. 
  • You can create an online account on the official UK government website and submit your documents there, also book your appointment to attend an interview at your nearest VAC. 
  • Complete your application and pay the visa fee and health surcharge online. 
  • Attend your visa interview at VAC, where your biometric data is taken.  
  • Your visa application will be assessed and the decision will be made within three weeks of your application.

You must apply at least 3 months before your intended travel date and the earliest you can apply is 6 months before your course starts. 

A student visa in the UK, allows you to stay there for the duration of your course. You can stay up to a total of 2 years for below degree level courses and for a total of 5 years for degree level courses or higher. 

You would be required to pay a fee of  £490 (approximately ₹51,700). Additionally, the Immigration Healthcare Surcharge is also payable as a part of your application.
