PTE Exam Fees

PTE is an exam that comes in various forms, from PTE Academic to PTE Core to PTE UK Visa Tests. The difference lies in purpose, as academic test specifically assists with academic intentions, visa applications and professional registrations, the PTE core is recognised for permanent residency applications and immigration purposes and lastly, there are types of UK Visa Tests, such as PTE Academic UKVI, Home A1, A2 and B1, wherein the choice is in between a family visa, settlement and citizenship, work visa and student visa, all specific to the United Kingdom. 

While applying, when you consider the type of test, the PTE Exam Fees will also be a concern. This fee is different from country to country, presently, in 117 countries, PTE has a network of more than 400 centres. For India, the fee structure is as follows:

PTE Registration Fees

PTE test does not have any separate or additional registration fees, the student can book their test by paying an all-inclusive price of INR 17,000 for the PTE Academic and Core. This includes a base fee of INR 14,406.78 and an 18% tax of INR 2,593.22. Further, there might be some minimal charges and students will have to consider the refund policies if they decide to reschedule or cancel the exam. These charges will depend upon when and why the student is rescheduling. Further, in case of a family emergency or an illness student can get a full refund by filling up an Emergency Reschedule Form, but this is subject to the discretion of PTE and the evidence provided.

PTE Cancellation Fees

In the scenario, when a student may feel unprepared for the test or wants to apply for the next academic year or there are other circumstantial issues then the test taker has the option to cancel the scheduled exam. But there are conditions applied, firstly, the timeline, for a full refund student must cancel at least 14 days before the scheduled exam. Further, by cancelling between 13 to 8 full calendar days student gets a 50% refund and if there are less than 7 calendar days before the exam then the student does not get any refund. Remember that the test date is not included in these timeframes.

PTE Rescheduling Fees

It is to be noted that in case of rescheduling or cancellation, students can get a full refund only if there are a minimum of 14 full calendar days left prior to the exam, otherwise, there is a fee and they might not get the full refund. The test can be rescheduled 6 times at max and if less than 14 days are left then the “Reschedule” button disappears and one can only cancel and book another appointment. The procedure to reschedule is very simple, as a student just log-in to their myPTE account and follows the step-by-step instructions to “reschedule” on their account dashboard. 

Payment Methods

While making this booking, the last step would be payment. Before clicking on any of the accepted forms of payment, whether credit card (MasterCard, Visa, American Express or JCB), debit card (MasterCard or Visa only) or PayPal, make certain that the payment is in the currency of your country only in which you are going to appear for the test. Supposedly when you are filling out the form from Australia but going to appear for the exam in India, then the payment should also be in Indian currency. Otherwise, the registration or service request may not be processed. 

Further, the mode of payment can be online through any online medium and payment through a voucher is also allowed. However, this voucher cannot be redeemed for the payment of rescheduling fees. Be mindful of the expiry date while making this payment though!
