The exam comprises four modules: speaking (11–14 minutes), writing (60 minutes with two tasks), reading (60 minutes), and listening (around 30 minutes with 40 multiple-choice questions). Results are issued after 13 days, with a six-week window for rechecking (chargeable), and the re-evaluation fee is reimbursed if scores change. Registration Process

To register for the IELTS exam, pay a fee of 17,000 INR online or at any IDP branch. Visit www.ieltsidpindia.com, choose “Register for IELTS,” select your test date and city, complete the online form, and pay with a valid credit card. After registration, you’ll get confirmation online and by email. Courier a passport photocopy to the IDP Head Office; without it, you can’t take the test. Also, remember to bring your original passport on the test day!

Retake Policy

There are no restrictions on retaking IELTS. You can register for a test as soon as you feel you are ready to do so. However, merely reapplying for the exam won’t change your scores, so for an improved result, you require improved performance, and for that, rigorous preparation is recommended.
